Let's Read
Well, as the title suggests, I really enjoy reading. I spend most of my free time either reading or working on this site, but reading is a major part of my life. Very little is as much fun to me as picking up an old book and trying to read it as quickly as possible. In fact, every time I get the chance, I buy books or as for them as gifts. Amazon has been a real problem for my check book recently because I have a really tough time turning down a book for a buck. Along with reading, I enjoy writing, but you already knew that. Take one look at my Writing Subsite and you'll find quite a few works of poetry and even a few short stories that I tried my hand at. Most of the short stories have gone up in smoke, though. But let's get back to the topic at hand: Reading and writing are great ways to deal with stress, whether through escape or through expression, or both. Expression is an understatement when trying to describe a book. Sure, the author is trying to express a point, but the events that are related to show that point can be made so fantastic and so utterly amazing that nothing can compare with the experience of reading a good book. Everyone now-a-days just waits for the book to come out as a movie, but nothing, and I mean nothing, can compare with actually reading the book. Next time you get a chance, go out to the library and grab a book. If you need some suggestions, why not check out my Virtual Bookshelf for what I've got in my personal collection. In fact, if I know you, I'll even loan one to you. |
