Ratchet and Clank

Fantastic does not even come close to describing the Ratchet and Clank games. Usually, the sequal to a game is better then the first in terms of graphics and design, but the actual story line isn't as good. Well, the truth is, every game got better. When I first got my Play Station 2, my father and I picked out a few games. One of the few that I thought looked interesting was Ratchet and Clank. I started playing it that day, and I didn't stop till I beat it.

After I did beat it, I played it a few times over, trying to get all of the extras and such, until I heard that there was a sequal coming out. Well, when I saw the commercial, I was ecstatic. Once again, I grabbed a copy of the game, and off I went. About 2 weeks later, I had defeated the game and was on my way to doing it again. I couldn't get enough of the Ratchet and Clank games.

The wait between game two, "Going Commando," and game three, "Up Your Arsenal," was not nearly as long as the first wait. Obviously the games were doing excellant in the stores, and the demand for a third game was high. My father rented it over the internet for the day it came out. Within a week, I had smashed every boss and blasted my way through all of the levels. When I went off to camp that summer, I bought my own copy and a multitap to play with the other guys. It was even more fun on multiplayer.

The last game, though I didn't expect there to be a fourth game, lived up to the Ratchet and Clank standards. I must admit, it wasn't as good as the third, but "Deadlocked" had a good story and good game play, but the game was too short in my opinion. The cool thing about the game was that you could play the story as a team, not just one player. Otherwise, it's multiplayer wasn't as good as "Up Your Arsenal." I was slightly upset at the lack of length, but I liked it all the same.

Basically, Ratchet and Clank was a game designed for big guns and lots of destruction. It's a role playing game (is there any other kind?) where the main character is this little rabbit looking guy that gets to go around the galaxy blowing the crap out of everything he comes in contact with! It's a fun game for a teenager, and for kids with a destructive imagination.

Take my advice, this game rocks. Don't believe me, try it for yourself.
